“if you don’t constantly question your foundations, … you end up building on top of conceptual shortcuts that prevent you from making further progress.” Kudos for calling in question the physical foundations of relativity and quantum mechanics. They are built on the determinism and time-symmetry of Hamiltonian mechanics, which reduces time to a mathematical coordinate of state and a coordinate of spacetime.
Empirical facts, however, reveal a different reality. Quantum measurements are intrinsically random; measurements relative to an external reference clock reveal irreversible increases in entropy. These are acknowledged facts, but they are fundamentally incompatible with the mathematical foundations of physics, and they are relegated to an “emergent” reality separate from fundamental physical reality. A Medium article, based on my published peer-reviewed article, directly challenges the Hamiltonian foundation of physics. https://medium.com/science-and-philosophy/a-thermocontextual-perspective-reimagining-physics-part-3-d95313ccd709
